40 Years, 400,000 Stories
CLC's 40th Anniversary Celebration
The College of Lake County first opened for classes on September 25, 1969, welcoming 2,360 students to that first fall semester.
In the years since then, more than 400,000 students have passed through our doors.
Each of these students came to CLC with a personal goal. For some it was simply learning a new skill; for others, achieving the dream of a better life.
In their challenges, struggles and triumphs, these students can tell many stories—of talents found, careers built, lives changed.
For this reason, we have selected 40 Years, 400,000 Stories as the theme of our 40th Anniversary observance. On this web site, we will share many of these stories, and in so doing, hope to tell something of the College of Lake County's own story.
