Brandon Ferrara, the 2018-19 student trustee, is a sophomore currently undecided on a major but leaning toward a degree in either communications or management.

A resident of Mundelein, Ill., he graduated from Vernon Hills High School in 2017. Upon enrolling at CLC in the Fall 2017 Semester, Mr. Ferrara immediately became involved in campus life. He was accepted into the Honors and Scholars programs and also has worked as a student ambassador in the Welcome and One Stop Center. Additionally, Mr. Ferrara has served as a student senator and a public relations officer for the CLC chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa honor society. He also is the current sports editor and business manager of The Chronicle student newspaper.

Mr. Ferrara said his main objectives as student trustee are to 1) give students a voice with the Board of Trustees, and 2) reach out to area high school students and promote the quality of a CLC education—from the perspective of a current CLC student.

With plans to earn an associate degree in May 2019 and transfer to a four-year university, Mr. Ferrara is considering a career in either communications, sports media or sports management.
