By becoming active in campus life, you will learn new things, help bring about positive change and make new friends. And research shows that students’ time management skills, overall satisfaction and GPA often improve when they are active in student activities and campus life. Campus involvement is also recognized by many employers as an asset.
In addition to more than 40 clubs and organizations, we also offer leadership opportunities through the Student Government Association, Program Board, The Chronicle (student newspaper), CLC Radio, Emerging Leaders Program and Phi Theta Kappa. Student Life at CLC is further enhanced through co-curricular activities available through the Illinois Collegiate Skyway Conference, performing arts, art exhibits and speakers.
Nominate your best instructor for the Outstanding Full-Time and Part-Time CLC Faculty Member Award, sponsored by the Illinois Community College Trustees Association, in cooperation with the CLC Board of Trustees and the CLC Student Government Association. Students may nominate as many full-time and part-time faculty members as they like by completing a full-time faculty nomination form (PDF) or a part-time faculty nomination form (PDF) and returning it to the Student Life Office or emailing to email@example.com by Tuesday, February 3, 2015 by 4 p.m.
All faculty nominations along with reference letters, statement of educational philosophy and survey completed by the faculty member, will be reviewed and voted upon by the Student Government Association and other selected Student Leaders. The College of Lake County nomination will be recognized by the CLC Board of Trustees and then be submitted to the Illinois Community College Trustees Association for recognition along with nominations from other community colleges for state honors.
Award Criteria: Describe items, situations, actions, observations and events which substantiate the faculty member’s excellence as an educator. Please write legibly, and attach additional pages if needed.
