Scholarships
The Foundation supports a wide variety of scholarships, funded by special events and donations from individuals, corporations and organizations. Scholarships are a priority for the Foundation. By supporting them, the Foundation invests in the economic and social well-being of Lake County.
Major CLC Foundation Scholarships:
Diversity Award (Designed for students who are members of an ethnic minority)
Covers full tuition and a comprehensive fee at the in-district rate for the time the recipient maintains eligibility for the scholarship--up to a maximum of 63 credit hours, earned within five years. Books and supplies may also be covered for up to $500 per year.
Applicants must submit an essay demonstrating a commitment to continue further education and a letter of recommendation from a teacher or other community leader.

Leadership Grant: Student Activities (Designed for students who have made a commitment to involvement in student activities at CLC)
Covers tuition and a comprehensive fee at the current in-district rate, not to exceed $500.
Applicants must submit a written statement describing the student's accomplishments, educational plans and/or career goals and how participation in the identified activity would benefit the applicant's education. A letter of recommendation and a statement of financial need are also required.

Academic Achievement (Designed for students who have demonstrated exceptional academic ability)
Covers full tuition and comprehensive fees at the in-district rate as long as the recipient maintains scholarship eligibility, up to a maximum of 63 credit hours earned within three years.
Applicants must submit an essay on an issue of current academic interest along with ACT/SAT test results and a letter of recommendation from a high school teacher or CLC faculty member.

GED College Opportunities
For students who have completed a GED program/earned a GED certificate.
Covers full tuition and a comprehensive fee at the in-district rate for at least six credit hours per semester for a maximum of 63 credit hours earned within five years.
Applicants must submit an essay on "How earning the GED has improved my life." Other requirements: two letters of recommendation, at least one from a teacher; a cover letter that describes the applicant's educational goals and financial need; and a copy of the GED or a signed release of information form.

ESL College Opportunities
For students who have taken English as a Second Language classes.
Covers full tuition and a comprehensive fee at the in-district rate for at least six credit hours per semester for a maximum of 63 credit hours earned within five years.
Applicants must submit an essay on "How taking English as a Second Language classes improved my life." Other requirements: two letters of recommendation, at least one from a teacher and a cover letter that describes the applicant's educational goals and financial need.

Career Award (Designed for students who are pursuing an associate of applied science degree or a career certificate)
Covers full tuition and comprehensive fees at the in-district rate as long as the recipient maintains scholarship eligibility up to a maximum of 63 credit hours earned within five years. Selection criteria include academic performance.
Applicants must submit a letter of recommendation from a high school teacher or CLC faculty member and an essay on the student's career goal and the value of the occupation to society.
