Basic waterworks operation courses offered this fall

Prepare for the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency’s Drinking Water Certification exams by enrolling in the College of Lake County’s Basic Waterworks Operations courses.

Sections include: Sources of Water (Sept. 3, cost: $39), Water Quality (Sept. 10, cost: $39), Pumps and Hydraulics (Oct. 1, 8 and 15, cost: $59), Chemical Feeding (Oct. 29 and Nov. 5, cost $49), Distribution and Systems Maintenance (Nov. 12 and 19, cost: $49) and Regulations (Dec. 3, cost: $39.)

These offerings will help you prepare for “D” and “C” certification exams, which include waterworks facilities that are limited to storage, distribution and chemical addition to the water supply. All courses meet on Thursdays from 7–9:45 p.m. at the Grayslake campus, 19351 W. Washington St. For more information, call (847) 543-2615 or visit WPDI.

The Continuing Professional Development department of CLC’s Workforce and Professional Development Institute (WPDI) also offers courses in computers, project management, lean six sigma, hospitality, grant writing skills, security officer basic, highway flagger, strategic sales, human resources, Spanish language and interpreter, real estate, teacher education and event planning.
