Spanish Interpreter Medical I (beginning Sept. 26) and Spanish Interpreter Medical II (beginning Nov. 7) incorporate role play and scripts to simulate common healthcare situations such as intake, emergency room procedures, baseline nursing, common ailments, post discharge care, hospice and after life care. Participants may enroll in each five-week class at a cost of $549 per course. The courses are held at the Grayslake campus on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

To meet the growing demand for qualified interpreters, the Workforce and Professional Development Institute at the College of Lake County offers a Certified Spanish Interpreter Training program. The program includes four courses that emphasize interpretation techniques in the medical, educational and legal fields.
