Basic Skills Test Preparation – Math, offered from 6-9 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays, Oct. 26 through Nov. 2 will prepare you to take the enhanced Basic Skills test (administered by the Illinois Certification Testing System) by reviewing math concepts. Geometry, algebra and word problems will be discussed. Cost: $95.

Reading comprehension, grammar and writing concepts will be covered, and writing samples will be reviewed by the instructor. Cost: $95.
Substitute Teaching: Preparation and Professionalism, offered from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 6, introduces you to techniques, skills and materials on how to be a more effective and requested substitute teacher. A handbook is required. Cost: $45.
Substitute Teacher Workshop, offered from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 27, takes your substitute teaching to the next level. This application-oriented workshop addresses classroom management, teaching strategies, special education, and utilizing effective activities. A handbook is required. Cost: $85.
