Lancer women's tennis team earns spot at national tournament

The College of Lake County women’s tennis team placed in the top three at the Region IV NJCAA (National Junior College Athletic Association) Tournament, held the first weekend of October. The Lancers have earned a place at that national tournament, to be held May 1-6, 2010, in Tucson, Ariz.

The team is coached by Randy Malone.

The players (and their former high schools) include:
Angela Marescalco (Antioch), Christy Degler (Zion-Benton), Grace Kim (Deerfield), Jenna Salak (Antioch), Jennifer Schlung (Antioch), Kelly Busch (Zion-Benton), Lesley Om (Round Lake), Martha Quevedo (Round Lake), Megan Pazdernick (Grayslake Central), Miroslava Illasova and Valerie Brzeznski (Grant).

CLC teams compete in 12 intercollegiate sports. Women’s sports include basketball, cross-country, soccer, softball, tennis and volleyball. Men’s sports include baseball, basketball, cross-country, golf, soccer and tennis. CLC is a member of the Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference and the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA).
