Bradley Fields, one of the world’s most popular magicians, brings his amazing full-length magic show, “Out of Thin Air!,” to the James Lumber Center for the Performing Arts at the College of Lake County on Saturday, Nov. 7 at 3 p.m.
This well-known magician has presented his magic theatre to standing ovations around the world since 1975. In his show, things appear from nowhere and vanish into nothingness. Amazing sleight-of-hand and laugh-out-loud comedy create a magical world that audience members of all ages will enjoy.
Fields began performing professionally at the age of 14. Using comedy, mime and characterization, he developed a style so original that he became the first magician to appear in rock concerts and at such legendary nightspots as New York’s Gaslight, the Bitter End, Washington’s Cellar Door and Chicago’s Quiet Knight.
He created the role of the barker for the hit Broadway musical, “Barnum!” and designed magic for the show and its U.S. tours. In Chicago, the Daily News called him “a spellbinder,” while a Chicago Tribune critic proclaimed he had “never seen magic with such grace and wit.”
Fields developed the MatheMagic!™ show after a stint as a teacher in New York City. In addition to giving 200 performances of MatheMagic! each school year, Fields has appeared at the National Theater, the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C. and became the first American magician to be presented in Beijing, China. He continues to present his Magic Theatre and Illusion Show to rave reviews, standing ovations and sold-out houses worldwide. For more information on Fields, visit his Web site.
