CLC Trustee Barbara D. Oilschlager re-appointed to Illinois Workforce Investment Board
Illinois Gov. Pat Quinn has reappointed College of Lake County Trustee Barbara D. Oilschlager, of Grayslake, to serve on the Illinois Workforce Investment Board (IWIB). The appointment runs from April 15, 2013, through July 1, 2014.
The Illinois Workforce Investment Board is charged with reviewing the progress of the state’s workforce planning efforts, facilitating ways that government and the private sector can work together to meet the workforce needs of employers and workers. Members of the IWIB include leaders from state government, business, industry, labor, education and community-based organizations.
“I believe I am the longest serving appointee to this gubernatorial board, and I am thrilled to be honored again with this reappointment,” Oilschlager said.
Re-elected to the CLC board of trustees in April 2013, Oilschalger was first elected to the board in 1989. She has served several times as chairman and vice chairman and has provided leadership on various board committees. Additionally, she has assumed leadership roles in the Illinois Community College Trustees Association, serving as president from July 2009 to June 2010. In May 2012, she received the Excellence in Service to Education and Illinois Community Colleges award in recognition of her leadership and service to education in Lake County and the Illinois community college system.
Oilschlager is a retired administrator for secondary vocational education programs for the Lake County Area Vocational System/Lake County High Schools Technology Campus. She is a past president of the Illinois Association for Career and Technical Education.
