CLC launches transfer partnership with Arizona State University and other colleges

by College of Lake County | Published Jun 09, 2016

The College of Lake County and Arizona State University (ASU) have launched a transfer partnership that provides CLC students guaranteed admission to ASU and allows students to complete a bachelor’s degree at one of six ASU campuses. Students may also choose to complete a degree through ASU’s online programs.

Ranked as one of the top public universities in the nation, ASU is a great choice for CLC students who transfer out of state to complete their undergraduate degrees, according to Dr. Jerry Weber, former CLC president. ASU’s Guaranteed Program for Admission allows CLC students to focus on earning an undergraduate degree and plan for a smooth transfer. “This innovative partnership means that our students can earn a respected degree from ASU online or transfer there to complete their bachelor’s degree,” Dr. Weber said. ASU is just one of several new guaranteed admission agreements that CLC has recently finalized with private and public colleges and universities in Illinois and Wisconsin and even France, according to Karen Hlavin, associate vice president of Student Development.

“We are very excited about these new partnerships because of the many benefits our students will receive. These include guaranteed admission to high-quality four-year colleges and universities and focused advising to ensure seamless transfer between institutions,” Hlavin said. “CLC is constantly working to increase the number of colleges participating in guaranteed admissions programs to create even more opportunities for our students.”
