Board Members:
Thomas J. Schwartz
Thomas J. Schwartz was appointed to the college's board on Oct. 28, 2003, to fill a vacancy created when Millicent Berliant, a trustee with 22 years of service, resigned. He was elected to the board in April 2005.
A resident of Libertyville, Mr. Schwartz has had an impressive career with First Midwest Bank, beginning as a management trainee and rising through the ranks to executive positions including president and COO of First Midwest Bank. Most recently, he was named president and CEO of First Midwest Bank and appointed to First Midwest Bancorp's board.
Mr. Schwartz is a recognized leader in Lake County. He has been a member of the college's Foundation Board since 1989, chairing the Membership Committee and serving as Foundation board president from 1995 through 1997. In addition, Mr. Schwartz is past chairman of Lake County Partners; a board member for the Highland Park Hospital Foundation; the 1997 chairman of the United Way of Lake County's Annual Campaign; and a 2003 advisory board member for the Lake County Community Foundation.
Mr. Schwartz is a graduate of Bradley University in Peoria, Ill., and holds national certificates in Commercial Lending and Real-Estate Finance from Ohio State University, the University of Oklahoma, and the University of Illinois.
