New students coming to the College of Lake County must fill out an Application for Admission form online or in person (If you need assistance completing this form, please call the Office of Admissions and Records at (847) 543-2061). After obtaining the CLC Student ID Number, please call (847) 543-2445 and schedule an appointment to take a placement test and complete the registration process. New students also have the option of coming directly to Grayslake Campus, Lakeshore Campus or the Southlake Educational Center to apply.

In order to complete this process students need the following information:

  • Social Security number, if they have one.
  • Address and phone number.
  • Alien Registration number, if they have one. This number can be found on your Resident Card or your Work Permit.
  • Case ID number for any type of public assistance from the Department of Human Services, for example: medical card, food stamps, Kid-Care or TANF-cash. This information may qualify you for further assistance.

This information will remain confidential and is collected for educational purposes only. It will be used only to document student progress and to understand student needs.

All students must take a placement test every semester to be registered for a class.
