Who should apply?
You need to be 18 years of age and meet entrance requirements defined on the application. Men have traditionally worked in this career field; however, growing numbers of women are being welcomed into the many opportunities this career offers.
How does the Fast Track program work?
- The program begins July 2 and ends Dec. 19, 2008.
- You attend classes 3-5 hours a day, 4 days a week.
- You will be given the opportunity to test for National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS) Level 1 credentials. (NIMS is the highly respected national credentialing program for professionals in Computer Numerical Controls.)
- In addition to taking CNC courses, you’ll also learn important employability and job-seeking skills.
- At the end of the program, you will be prepared to continue your studies toward a degree at CLC or enter the workforce. The program will prepare you to demonstrate language proficiency and basic algebra readiness.
What does the program cost? Nothing!
There will be no charge for tuition, fees or books to those who qualify for the program. Space is limited, so apply early!

Fill out and submit an application for admission to the college and into the program. You can obtain the application form and submit it, by one of the following methods:
- In person at the Admissions office located in B101 on CLC’s Grayslake campus.
