ELL/ESL Action Project

This project will improve the processes by which CLC helps English Language Learners (ELL) transition into college-level classes.

  • The entire Adult Education ESL curriculum and course sequences revised to create two tracks: 1) an academic track for students seeking to transition into college programs and degrees and 2) a life skills track for students seeking general language development.
  • Counselor presence increased in academic ESL classes to assist ESL student transition.
  • Improved process implemented for ESL students seeking financial aid and scholarships.
  • Bi-lingual motivational and recruitment videos and PowerPoint presentations developed to explain registration and financial aid process.
