Developmental Reading and Writing Project
This project will increase the success of students who place into developmental reading and writing.
Primary Results
- New “Early Alert” programs piloted with developmental math and English faculty.
- English 109 and Sociology course linked.
- Funding obtained for a new English faculty member whose training has a specialization in reading. Process improved for ESL students seeking financial aid and scholarships.
- Summer Bridge pilot program developed for spring high school graduates who place in developmental English.
- Two new brochures published to explain the admissions process and methods for demonstrating math and language proficiency.
