To facilitate global engagement and advance international education among CLC students, faculty and staff through the support of international educational exchange, programs and services.

Meet the Staff

Jacob Cushing, Director

Jacob has been involved with international education nearly a decade. In his role as the Director, Jacob performs a broad range of duties to meet the needs of CLC international students and CLC Study Abroad students. As a Designated School Official, Jacob advises students on maintaining lawful immigration status, issues I-20’s, and grants immigration benefits. He also provides international student services in non-academic areas such as coordinating international student admissions, new student orientation, study abroad trips, faculty support, insurance assistance, housing issues, and social activities. Jacob also leads all study abroad initiatives, internationalization strategies, and spearheads development of international partnerships and agreements. Jacob has extensive international travel experience and has lived and worked abroad. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in History, and Master of Arts in Education from Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri.

Colleen Gray, International Student Recruiter

Colleen Gray graduated with a M.A. in Anthropology with a concentration Southeast Asian Studies. Her research looks at the relationships between NGOs and the Malaysian government. Previously, Gray worked at the Center for Southeast Asian Studies at Northern Illinois University as the Outreach Coordinator as well as the Director of the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) program supported by the Department of State. She has studied abroad and lived throughout Southeast Asia.

Lindsey Hobson, International Student Advisor

A native of Cleveland, OH, Lindsey serves as the International Student Advisor and Designated School Official (DSO) for CIE. She has been working in international education for over 5 years in recruitment, study abroad, and advising and supporting F-1 and J-1 students. As a 2015-2016 Fulbright U.S. Student Scholar in China, Lindsey studied Mandarin and researched the pre-arrival experience of Chinese students headed to the U.S. Lindsey earned her B.S. in Marketing Management at Grove City College and M.Ed. in Adult Learning and Development at Cleveland State University. She is passionate about supporting international students and creating meaningful connections during their time in the United States.

Stefanie Enriquez, Senior Administrative Assistant

Stefanie Enriquez has worked and is a current student at the College of Lake County for the past 3 years. She started off working in the Student Center at both the Lakeshore Campus and Southlake Campus. She was later promoted to Senior Administrative Assistant in the Center for International Education. She assists Jacob with prospective students and current students. She knows the process of becoming a student at CLC, and is dedicated to providing the best environment to all International Students.

International Education Committee

This committee meets regularly to advise, assist and promote projects and programs of the Center for International Education. They also assist Center staff to determine recipients for scholarships, grants and candidates for exchanges and teaching abroad.
