Steps to Activate Student Email
Please review these steps below before getting started:
1. Clearing the Login Screen
If your computer is set to automatically sign you in to another Windows Live email account, click "Sign Out".
If another email address is "saved" and displays on the login page, click "Sign in with a different account".
2. Logging in for the First Time
Once at the empty Windows Live signin page, enter the following:
- Your Windows Live ID is the myLogin username followed by @stu.clcillinois.edu: username@stu.clcillinois.edu
- Your initial Windows Live Password is your 6 digit birthday, in the format mmddyy.
Once you sign in, you must change your Windows Live password to match the password you used for myLogin. After you activate your email account, all changes you make to your password using myLogin Management will automatically carry over to your student email login.
3. Verify Your Information
After you sign in, you will go the email activation page.
Under "Verify your information", re-enter your 6 digit birthday (mmddyy).
4. Enter a New Password
Now enter a new password for this email account.
Use the same password as myLogin.
5. Set up a Secret Question/Answer
Choose a secret question and answer:
6. Provide your Information
Skip down to the "Your Information" section. Choose your Country, State and enter your Zip Code.
Then click "Submit".
7. Confirmation
You will be brought to a confirmation page that asks you to sign in to your Windows Live email account.
Click the "Sign in to Windows Live" button.
8. Sign in to your Student Email Account
You can now sign in with your student email address (myLogin username@stu.clcillinois.edu) and password.
- Windows Live ID: myLogin username@stu.clcillinois.edu
- Password: myLogin password
9. Complete Security Prompt
The first time you sign in, Windows Live asks you to verify a security image before bringing you to your inbox.
Enter the characters displayed and click "continue".
Following the steps above will activate your student email account so it is ready for you to use. All email correspondence from CLC and your instructors will be delivered to this address.
