Honors Program Requirements

In order to get into the Honors Program, you must complete a formal application. Download the Honors Program Application Form or obtain this from the Honors Coordinator. Along with the completed application, you need to include:
  • Unofficial copies of your high school or college transcripts and ACT scores (if you have at least 12 credits of academic college courses completed at CLC or at another school)
The Honors Advisory Committee will consider the following criteria in evaluating your application. To be admitted into the Honors Program, you must meet the following criteria. Please note that meeting the criteria is a prerequisite and not a guarantee of admission into the program.
  • High school GPA of 3.5 or above
  • College GPA of 3.5 or above (with the completion of at least 12 academic credit hours)
  • ACT Composite score of 25 and above. (highly recommended but not mandatory)

Students who are accepted into the program do not need to reapply to the Honors Program each semester. However, in order to remain in the program and continue to take honors courses, students must maintain an overall GPA of 3.0 and receive at least a "B" in all of their honors courses.

Honors students are also expected to stay enrolled in their honors courses and successfully complete them. If a student withdraws from an honors course, s/he will no longer be eligible to take future honors courses.
