Admission for Students 16 - 18 or Currently Attending High School

A student who is 16 - 18 years of age, or is older but currently attending High School must submit a Secondary School Reference form signed by a parent and an official of the secondary school of current or last attendance.

To apply, submit the following credentials to the Office of Admissions and Records.

  1. Completed CLC Application for Admission form.
  2. Completed CLC Secondary School Reference form (for students 16-18 years of age who have not graduated from high school). This must be signed by a school representative and a parent.

Some high school students may have the option of enrolling for dual credit at both CLC and their high school. For more information about the dual credit option read P16 Dual Credit Frequently Asked Questions, or speak with your high school counselor. Once enrolled, dual credit students may be eligible to receive a refund for all or a portion of their tuition and fees under the college's P-16 Dual Credit Grant program. Call 847-543-2982 for information or submit the P16 Dual Credit Grant Request form.

Admission for Students Under 16 Years of Age

A student less than 16 years of age must be judged by both the high school and CLC to possess exceptionally high academic ability and maturity to handle the discipline and personal skills required for successful completion of college work.

To apply, submit the following credentials to the Office of Admission and Records.

  1. Completed CLC Application for Admission form.
  2. Completed CLC Secondary School Reference form (for students under 16). This must be signed by a school representative, the high school department chairman, a CLC dean, and a parent.
  3. Official transcript(s) of school record(s) showing successful completion of the most advanced course offerings by the high school in the subject area in which the student wishes to enroll at CLC.
  4. Letter of Recommendation from the high school department outlining the student's intended course or program of study at CLC.
  5. Middle school students must provide a letter from their district high school confirming that the high school cannot academically accommodate the student's needs and the educational level that is needed exceeds the high school level.

In additional to providing items listed above, students must meet all course prerequisites prior to the CLC Division Dean's consideration.
