In our global community, knowledge of a foreign language is quickly becoming a necessity in order to better understand our neighbors, our colleagues at work, and our world. The College of Lake County offers courses in Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese and Spanish. In addition, advanced students are able to study specific cultures in their native languages.
To assist the student of languages, a state of the art language laboratory will be available for use beginning January 2006.
Of special interest to some students may be a special topics introductory Spanish course for teachers and/or the Spanish for Spanish Speakers class.
In addition, international field study trips are frequently offered during the summer months as a way to further explore languages and practice pronunciation.
