About the Program
Consistent with the Mission and goals of the College of Lake County, the Medical Imaging Program strives for excellence in preparing students for entry-level positions in the Medical Imaging profession. By maintaining high academic and clinical standards, graduates receive an Associate of Applied Science degree in Medical Imaging, become eligible for certification as Registered Radiologic Technologists, and attain clinical competency as entry-level professional radiographers.
- The number of students who can be admitted to the Medical Imaging Program each year is limited. Therefore, a screening process is used to select the academically best qualified those who request consideration. The screening deadline is the first Wednesday in March. Preference is given to residents of Community College District 532 (CLC) and residents of other community college districts with which CLC has a Joint Education Agreement. To find out more about the screening process, please click on the Program Requirements link below.
- Medical Imaging information sessions are held the first Monday of each month (except January, June, and July) at 2:00pm. Please call 847 543-2042 for the room number. Attendance at an information session is required for screening eligibility.
Important notice! The HOBET entrance test will NOT be utilized for health program applications after March 2010. The publisher of the test will no longer be making the test and the College will be making a decision on a replacement in the near future. In the meantime:
1. If you intend to apply for the spring 2010 2010 screening for Dental Hygiene, Health Information Technology, Medical Imagining, or Surgical Technology programs, take the HOBET test before the program's screening deadline.
2. If you do NOT intend to apply for the spring 2010 screening but may apply for screening in a subsequent year, do NOT take the HOBET test as it will not be accepted in 2011 or later. When a decision has been made regarding the replacement test, it will posted on the website and in the catalog. Return to the website frequently for more up-to-date information.
