Program of Study: Mathematics: Teaching in Secondary Mathematics
Academic Division: Engineering, Math & Physical Sciences
Students may obtain an Associate of Arts in Teaching (Secondary Mathematics) degree from the College of Lake County by successfully completing the 62 credits and by meeting the graduation requirements listed in the CLC CATALOG.
The College of Lake County is a participant in the Illinois Articulation Initiative (IAI). This is a program to ease the transfer for students from 2- year or 4-year college/universities to 4-year colleges/universities in Illinois. The 62 credit hours needed for the AAT degree contain the IAI core.
The AAT degree is an associate’s degree for students planning on transferring to a four-year university. If you already have a Bachelor’s degree in another discipline, you should consider Alternative Certification. You can take your math classes at CLC and then finish your certification at another institution without having to complete another Bachelor’s degree. See the link below for more details.
