Mission Statement:
"The mission of the Health Center encompasses a holistic approach to health management, providing assessments and assisting students and staff in the management of health-related concerns. The Health Center's primary emphasis is on the promotion of health and wellness through learning."
The Health Center under the direction of a registered nurse provides physical assessments of health problems and primary care for illnesses and injuries, with appropriate referrals when necessary. Health education programs and screening services are offered in cooperation with other college departments and community agencies. Programs include: !
- Blood drives 8 times/year
- National Depression Screening Day in October
- National Alcohol Screening Day in April
- Flu shots every fall when available.
Low-cost laboratory testing is also available. Confidential care is assured. Medical parking for temporary disabilities is authorized through the Health Center. Low-cost health insurance is offered to all full-time and part-time students (6+ credit hours) and their dependents. We are located in A149, across the hall from Campus Safety on the Grayslake Campus.
Health career students PLEASE NOTE:
- Required immunizations and TB skin testing for ALL health career and transfer students are available by appointment.
- Nursing 110 students must meet 2-step TB skin testing and Measles/Mumps/Rubella requirements prior to clinical work. Call for details!
