Charles is an Academic Advisor for the college and is eager to help students attain their goals. Charles has been a mentor to many young men and women over the years though programs like Lincoln Challenge. He has taken a non-traditional route to reach his educational goals and hopes to bring this broad base of experience to use in his advising. Charles received a Bachelor's degree in History from UWP and is currently working on his Master of Arts in Teaching degree from Dominican University in River Forest, Illinois.

deannaDeanna Lindaman
B.A, California State University
dlindaman@clcillinois.edu
Deanna received a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies from California State University, San Marcos in 2002. Her educational pursuits span four institutions (including CLC) and seven years, and a transition from being a traditional student to a non-traditional student. She has a passion for working with adult learners because she can easily relate to the many challenges they face in balancing family, career, and educational goals. Deanna previously worked as an Off-Campus Program Advisor for Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. One of her favorite quotes is by Helen Keller: "When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us."

colleenColleen Opal

M.A., Michigan State University
copal@clcillinois.edu
Colleen received her Bachelor's degree in Spanish with a Minor in Women's Studies from San Diego State University. While at SDSU, she was involved in Residence Life and the International Student Organization, among other student organizations; she also participated in a year-long study abroad program in Santiago, Chile. After completing her Bachelor's degree, she went on to achieve a Master's degree in Student Affairs Administration at Michigan State University, while working as an Assistant Hall Director for the Department of Residence Life. In her work with students, she is passionate about promoting critical thinking, personal responsibility, and multicultural and global competence. Outside of work, she loves to spend time with a good book and working out at the gym. One interesting tidbit about Colleen is that she is fascinated with different depictions of the world on maps and globes.
