Deanna Lindaman
B.A, California State University
dlindaman@clcillinois.edu
Deanna received a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies from California State University, San Marcos in 2002. Her educational pursuits span four institutions (including CLC) and seven years, and a transition from being a traditional student to a non-traditional student. She has a passion for working with adult learners because she can easily relate to the many challenges they face in balancing family, career, and educational goals. Deanna previously worked as an Off-Campus Program Advisor for Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. One of her favorite quotes is by Helen Keller: "When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us."
Colleen Opal
B.A., San Diego State University
M.A., Michigan State University
copal@clcillinois.edu
Colleen received her Bachelor's degree in Spanish with a Minor in Women's Studies from San Diego State University. While at SDSU, she was involved in Residence Life and the International Student Organization, among other student organizations; she also participated in a year-long study abroad program in Santiago, Chile. After completing her Bachelor's degree, she went on to achieve a Master's degree in Student Affairs Administration at Michigan State University, while working as an Assistant Hall Director for the Department of Residence Life. In her work with students, she is passionate about promoting critical thinking, personal responsibility, and multicultural and global competence. Outside of work, she loves to spend time with a good book and working out at the gym. One interesting tidbit about Colleen is that she is fascinated with different depictions of the world on maps and globes.
