China: A Business and Cultural Experience

Join CLC professors Li-hua Yu and Venkat Krishnamurthy on a 14-day field study course exploring China’s rich cultural heritage and dynamic business environment. This is a unique opportunity to explore and experience both ancient and modern facets of China first hand. You will see its rich history and culture as well as the results of the economic revolution that has transformed China into an emerging economic and business powerhouse.

Coursework includes pre-trip learning sessions, visits to four cities within China demonstrating various stages of development (Beijing, Shanghai, Xian and Xining), excursions to many points of cultural interest, and unique opportunities for site visits to Chinese manufacturing and service businesses. The course will also provide opportunities for discussion sessions with Chinese business leaders, owners and entrepreneurs.

Program Duration: May 18 - June 1, 2009

Courses Available: HST 127 and BUS 299 (6 credit hours)

Estimated cost: $3,500 plus tuition/fees for 6 credits
