Engineering, Math & Physical Sciences Division
The Engineering, Mathematics and Physical Sciences Division at the College of Lake County provides comprehensive educational programs for students with transfer and vocational/technical career goals.
The transfer programs in the division serve students in multiple ways. The division offers an Associate in Science (A.S) degree with an emphasis in computer science, earth science, mathematics, or physics; an Associate in Engineering Science (A.E.S); and Associate in Arts in Teaching Secondary Mathematics (A.A.T). These degrees are designed to facilitate transfer to a 4-year college or university for further study. The departments of mathematics, physics, and geology also serve many students who need to take courses toward general education requirements for a variety of degrees and certificates at the college.
Career education programs are designed for students seeking specialized training in preparation for employment after leaving CLC. Some students take only a few courses to reinforce and improve skills they already possess. Other career students enroll in a two-year program which leads to an Associate in Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree or enter a short sequence which leads to a Certificate. Although the A.A.S. degrees are not primarily designed to transfer to four-year colleges and universities, many of them do. See a counselor at CLC for more information.
Whatever your interests and needs might be, the faculty and staff in the Engineering, Mathematics and Physical Sciences Division are here to assist you in achieving your educational goals.
