Navigation for Engineering, Math & Physical Sciences:

The Engineering, Mathematics and Physical Sciences Division at the College of Lake County provides comprehensive educational programs for students with transfer and vocational/technical career goals. The vocational/technical and certificate programs are varied in terms of content and duration. Some students take only a few courses to reinforce and improve skills they already possess. Other career students enroll in a two-year program which leads to an Associate in Applied Science degree (A.A.S.) or enter a short sequences which leads to a Certificate.

The engineering transfer curriculum at CLC is a two-year program which provides the prospective engineering student with the educational background required for continued engineering study at a four-year college or university. The Engineering transfer program at CLC parallels the first two years of engineering programs at most universities accredited by the Accrediting Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET). Since minor differences in course requirements exist at different universities and in different engineering disciplines within the same university, students are strongly advised to meet with a faculty advisor from the engineering department and consult the college catalog of their intended transfer institution. The following course selections indicated in the program requirements below are recommended for most efficient transfer to a university with junior standing. Some variation in course selection may be advisable, depending on the intended engineering discipline and on transfer institution requirements.

Engineering students may also elect to pursue the Associated of Enginering Science (A.E.S.) degree, which may facilitate transfer to some engineering schools in Illinois. Students pursuing the A.E.S. should make sure their course selections meet the requirements of the discipline and school to which they plan to transfer.

Whatever your interests and needs might be, the faculty and staff in the Engineering, Mathematics and Physical Sciences Division are here to assist you in achieving your educational goals.
