Lake County is home to over 1,000 manufacturers of all sizes. CLC in collaboration with the Lake County Workforce Ecosystem, manufacturers and other workforce entities is pleased to showcase the degree and certificate programs, career opportunities and in-demand jobs available to students, job seekers and the Lake County community.

Thursday, October 4, 5-7 p.m., T120/121
Baxter Innovation Lab Open House

Come see the state-of-the-art lab that was modeled off of the MIT fabrication concept. Experience the various high-tech equipment including 3D printers and high-powered lasers. Staff and faculty will be on hand to give tours and equipment demonstrations. Open to the public.

Manufacturing Job Fair

This promises to be a great event with some of the top local companies attending. Employers include:

  • Alliance Mechanical
  • Amazon
  • Huntington Resource Center
  • HydraForce
  • MacLean-Fogg
  • Medline
  • Procter and Gamble

This is your opportunity to meet with leading companies, interview with top hiring managers and secure your fall internship for 2018.

Tuesday, October 23, 5:30-9 p.m., A Wing Lower Level
Engineering Night

Ever wonder what it takes to become an engineer? Curious as to what the profession entails?

  • Learn about careers in engineering and computer science and meet with representatives from area engineering schools.
  • Students can mix and mingle with professional engineers to learn about the various engineering professions such as civil, electrical, mechanical, chemical, computer science, aerospace, etc.
  • CLC Engineering professors will present a general overview of the engineering college search process.
  • Students and their parents may visit classroom breakout sessions (three sessions at 25 minutes each) to learn more about the participating college and university programs.
  • You will also have the opportunity to visit the new Baxter Innovation Lab.

Manufacturing Career Expo

Representatives from several Lake County manufacturers will be on hand to discuss in-demand jobs and careers in growing industries. Students and community members will also be able to meet with CLC staff and faculty and learn about career program certificates and degree options.

Tours of CLC’s Baxter Innovation Lab in addition to the Computerized Numerical Control, Automation Robotics Mechatronics and the Laser, Photonics and Optics labs will be ongoing throughout the evening.

Spotlight on Manufacturing: Panel Discussion presented by Workforce Development Department
