About Us

President's greeting

Welcome to the College of Lake County's new Go Green Web site.

Here you will find news and practical tips related to sustainability—efforts to conserve the Earth's limited resources and reduce global warming. Find out about CLC's latest courses and seminars that will teach skills for the emerging green jobs industries, from wind turbines to the latest solar-energy technologies. Pick up a few environmental tips that will apply at work or in daily living. Also find out about CLC's latest green efforts, from installing energy-saving light bulbs to helping students form an active Environmental Club.

The College is proud to be a part of the Illinois Community College Sustainability Network (ICCSN). Established in 2007, the ICCSN, which includes all 48 Illinois community colleges, is dedicated to providing the training and expertise to engage in the new energy economy. Harnessing this collective brainpower and idea-sharing is part of CLC's ongoing effort to stay on the leading edge of this exciting new era.

Visit this site regularly for updates, especially upcoming courses and seminars and links to events throughout Lake County. Also, your feedback is important in keeping this Web site a useful tool in your own efforts to "go green." Please send comments to Dave Fink, public relations coordinator, at dfink@clcillinois.edu.

Yours for a sustainable Earth,

Jerry W. Weber, Ph.D.
