Beekeeping 101
The price of honey has tripled in two years. The demand to use bees for pollination is up. Keeping bees as a sideline job can eventually be a nice source of income. Or you can maintain hives for personal enjoyment and to help your garden or orchard. In this class the aspiring beekeeper will learn about bee biology and modern beekeeping techniques. It will cover construction of hives and means of acquiring bees. If you have never kept bees, this class is where to start. Late fall is the time to plan for starting bees in the spring. A two-session, hands-on follow-up class will be conducted in the spring. (CAVO 1)
