NEW! Truck Driver Training (CDL)

This is your opportunity to learn more about a career in the truck driving industry.

Information Sessions:

Truck Driving Career

The College of Lake County Truck Driver Training (CDL) will prepare you for a career as a commercial truck driver in just four weeks. The U.S. Department of Labor estimates an immediate need for an additional half-million truck drivers. Entry level professional truck drivers may obtain an average salary of $35,000 annually, and may earn much more. Industry competition for qualified drivers is increasing. Trucking is truly an equal opportunity career for both women and men and has virtually no age bias.

About the Course

The course will provide students with the knowledge and skills to prepare for the state-issued Commercial Drivers License (CDL) exams, including the permit test, pre-trip inspection test, skills tests, and road tests. Job placement assistance is available upon graduation. Recruiters from some of the top trucking firms in the nation will be visiting the school regularly.

Classroom instruction is held at CLC in the T-Wing room T334. The driving portion is held at ATS Truck Driving School in Wauconda. Course fee is $4300. Students should call (847) 543-2615 prior to enrolling to ensure that they meet course entrance requirements.
