About the Installment Payment Plan

Paying for the rising costs of a college education is a concern for nearly every student and family. The fact is, few of us have the resources to simply write a check for the full cost of tuition each semester. So how are you meeting your costs? What’s your plan? Do you have one?

Having a solid plan for covering the cost of college is an important step toward graduation. College of Lake County is pleased to enlist the services of Nelnet Business Solutions Management Company, the leading tuition payment plan provider in the industry, to make the process easier for you. Working together, CLC and Nelnet Business Solutions will provide you with sensible strategies for covering the rising costs of college.

Here Is a Proven Plan

To help you meet your educational expenses, College of Lake County is proud to offer the Installment Payment Plan as a convenient budget plan. This is not a loan program. There are no interest or finance charges assessed, and there is no credit check. The cost to budget your interest-free monthly payment plan is a non-refundable enrollment fee of $25 for Spring, $15 for Summer and $25 for Fall. You may budget your tuition and fees in the following ways:

  • Automatic Bank Payment (ACH)
    ACH payments are those payments you have authorized Nelnet Business Solutions to process directly with your financial institution. Such payments are simply bank-to-bank transfers of funds that you have pre-approved for your expenses at CLC. Payments may be made from either your checking or savings account. Payments are processed on the fifth day of each month and will continue until the balance is paid in full.
  • Credit Card Option
    Paying with your credit card gives you the option of taking advantage of any bonus programs that may be offered by your credit card company. Your monthly payment will be automatically charged to the credit card you designate. Payments will be charged on the fifth day of each month until the balance is paid in full.
  • Information for recipients of Financial Aid or Veteran benefits

How to Enroll

Enroll in the Installment Payment Plan online; it is simple, secure and easy. Connect to the e-Cashier by accessing the Student Center through myCLC. Please be sure to have the following information handy.

  • Your seven-digit Student ID Number as assigned by the College of Lake County.
  • The name, address, and email address of the person responsible for making the payments.
  • To protect your privacy, you will need to create your own unique Access Code. Please be sure it is something you can easily remember.
  • Credit card or bank account information for the person responsible for payments.
  • If paying by automatic bank payments, you will need the bank name, telephone number, account number, and the bank routing number. Most of this information is located on your check.
  • If paying by credit card, you will need the credit card number and expiration date.

After you have filled in your information:

  • Before you click the Submit button, please carefully read through the Final Review and the Terms and Conditions.
  • An immediate email will be sent (if an email address was provided for the person responsible for the payment) confirming the enrollment through e-Cashier.

Installment Payment Plan Options, Fees and Deadlines

The installment payment plan allows you to choose to make payments on the fifth day of the month or on the 20th day. These provisions apply:

  • To use the installment payment plan, you must have a minimum balance due on your CLC account of at least $100.
  • You must enroll in the plan each term, and a non-refundable enrollment fee ($25 for Spring, $15 for Summer, $25 for Fall) will be charged to your account when you sign up.
  • Down payments: Down payments are deducted immediately from the account provided on the agreement. If the payment fails for any reason, the agreement is terminated.
  • An immediate email will be sent (if an email address was provided for the person responsible for the payment) confirming the enrollment through e-Cashier.

  • If you have questions regarding your agreement, please contact Nelnet Business Solutions directly or view your agreement online through your Payment Plan Account.
  • To access your Payment Plan Account, follow the instructions located on the Confirmation Notification or email.
  • If you have questions regarding your tuition balance, please visit the Welcome and One Stop Center or contact Student Accounting.
  • For questions concerning Financial Aid, please call CLC’s Financial Aid Office.
