Iceland - photo of waterfall

June 15 - July 6, 2018

  • DMD 111 – Introduction to Digital Media (3 credit hours)
  • BIO 128 – Natural History of Selected Areas (3 credit hours)

Join CLC Professors Rory Klick and Michael Kozien on a three-week journey through the beautiful and inspiring country of Iceland. Iceland offers a unique landscape encompassing fjords, glaciers, waterfalls, active volcanoes, arctic tundra, and temperate grassland systems. The Icelandic culture works to respect and embrace nature in its wilderness and urban areas. We'll explore the majority of the country including the capital city of Reykjavík; a top design center and creative hub for visual culture including visual communication, industrial design, art, music and film production. Through the exploration of this country, students will observe how Iceland embraces and integrates nature in design and still reflects its history as well as its progressive sustainability goals.
