Sharing Ideas: Student Experiences

Brianne Greene, Honors Student and CLC Scholar

Being part of the Honors Program has changed the way I think about community college. It is a benefit that the honors courses are discounted, but the biggest impact these courses had for me was the close-knit group of students. Often, students from one of your honors classes are in another with you. Additionally, the courses are more discussion based and you truly get to know the students around you; otherwise, you would just go to class, take notes and leave. Making conversation with people you have in multiple classes makes the community college experience feel even more like a community.
