  • Situational Awareness – presented by Nicholas Greco IV, a Board Certified Expert in Traumatic Stress and a police and law enforcement training expert
  • Run, Hide, Fight – presented by Thomas K. Guenther, Chief of Police, College of Lake County
  • Critical First Aid – presented by Marco Mendoza, a veteran Navy Corpsman and Tactical Combat Casualty Care Instructor

This workshop is eligible for 3 CEs for licensed counselors and social workers or 3 PDs for teachers, counselors and social workers.

Course Descriptions and Schedule Information

Please note:

These PSWC courses are co-listed classes and originated as "for credit courses" that students on a degree track can take for credit. We are opening up the classes for social workers and counselors who wish to earn CE units. While the rigor of the course is less for CE students as tests and some assignments may be optional, this is still a college-level course and some work will be required so that CE students can contribute to thoughtful and meaningful discussions with the class. Attendance is required and students will lose CE unit hours if class time has to be missed. The classes will be graded pass/no pass.

Social Worker CEs

Are you a social worker interested in earning CEs? The College of Lake County is an approved provider of continuing education (CE) relevant to the practice of social work or clinical social work by the Illinois Department of Professional Regulations. The next CE renewal date is November 30, 2019. The renewal period is the 24 months preceding November 30 of each odd-numbered year. Contact our office for more information about earning CE credits for any of the classes listed on the Healthcare page.

All classes are not offered every semester.
