About the Program
The architectural technology program prepares graduates to assume a variety of duties in the architectural profession including:
- Create construction working drawings
- Design development drawings and renderings
- Estimate costs
- Write specifications
- Structural design and detailing
- Construction supervision
- Sales of materials and equipment
- Facilities engineering
- Building inspection
- Building codes
- Zoning ordinances

Transfer Information
Students can transfer into an architectural program at a four-year college or university upon completing a transfer program of study in architecture. Students have transferred to the following schools:
- University of IL – Chicago
- Illinois Institute of Technology
- Southern IL University – Carbondale
- University of IL – Urbana Champaign
- University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee
- Columbia College – Chicago (Interior Architecture)

Employment After Graduation
Many of our courses are designed to give students the technical knowledge required in design offices. Additionally, students will work in a design office as part of their coursework. Typical employers of graduates include:
