Meet the Professors

Lance David

Teaching full time at CLC since: 2003; previously, he worked at Midas International in Arlington Heights, where he was manager of program development and training. Professor David also served as a part-time faculty member at CLC and was an automotive instructor at Antioch Community High School.

Education: B.S.,Western Illinois University; M.S. Ed., Southern Illinois University-Carbondale; Ed.D., Argosy University; A.S.E. Master Certified, L1 Advanced Level Certified.

Main goal in teaching: To help students reach their goals. They come to CLC with a goal in mind or a dream. They are trying to be somebody, to make a difference in their lives. I want to understand their needs and help them to get the most out of their time here at CLC.

Teaching full time at CLC since: 2005; previously served as the automotive lab’s program assistant for two years.

Education: A.A.S., College of Lake County; B.S., Southern Illinois University; M.Ed., University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign; A.S.E. Certified Master Auto Technician.

Specialties: Automotive electricity and electronics, transmission and driveline systems, and engine performance.

Teaching full time at CLC since: 2005; previously served as the automotive lab’s program assistant for two years. He is an ASE Certified Master Automotive Technician and is a member of the Automotive Engine Re-builders Association, the Automatic Transmission Rebuilders Association and the Association for Educational Communications Technology.

Subjects taught at CLC: Introductory automotive technology, engine rebuilding, auto electrical, manual drive train and axles, powertrain systems, automotive service consulting, automatic transmission and transaxle, air conditioning and heating.

Main goal in teaching: I enjoy helping students in reaching their potential as well as modernizing the way in which they learn, by integrating new educational technologies into the classroom.
