Meet the Professors

Steven Dulmes
Professor Emeritus, CAD/CAM

Specialties: Lasers, photonics and optics; computer aided design; mechatronics (pneumatics and hydraulics). Professor Dulmes started and chairs CLC’s laser, photonics and optics department.

Teaching full time at CLC since: 1987; also has worked in industry as a hydraulics engineer and a CAD/CAM engineer who has trained engineers on CAD technology. Professor Dulmes has given presentations on photonics at national conferences and for U.S. senators and congressmen.

Courses taught at CLC: Most CAD courses, C programming, lasers and optics, drafting, engineering graphics, hydraulics, pneumatics, mathematics and Excel.

Education: B.S., Purdue University; M.S., DePaul University.

What inspires me most about my field: Working with some of the best people I have ever met and engaging students in the subject and working at the forefront of technology. Outside of courses, I have also enjoyed connecting with students, advising the Campus Crusade for Christ Club for more than 23 years.

Tina Ye
Instructor, CAD/CAM

Teaching full time at CLC since: 2004; previously taught at Rock Valley College and Pennsylvania State University. She also worked in industry as a research engineer.

Education: B.S., Tianjin University, China; M.S., University of Pittsburgh; Ph.D., University of Illinois at Chicago.
