A career in digital media has four main specialties: animation, graphic design, Web development/interactive design and digital audio/video (A/V) production and editing. Depending on your specialty, you'll work at a graphic-design firm, advertising/PR agency, corporate marketing department, architectural firm, non-profit organization, post-production studio, television station, magazine or newspaper.

Entry-level job titles include: production artist, animator, junior graphic designer, new media designer, video editor, post-production audio editor, and audio-visual specialist. With experience, you can move into supervisory roles or start your own web design/digital-media firm.
