Meet the Digital Media and Design Instructors:
Michael Kozien

Michael Kozien, department chair of the Digital Media and Design program, is a digital media artist and designer. His work, merging video, sound, photography and the Web, has been exhibited at venues worldwide. These venues include the Chicago Cultural Center; Art in General, New York City; and Le Musee di-visioniste, Cologne, Germany. As a digital media designer, Michael has worked for Toyota, Corgi Toys, the Chicago Park District, Baxter Healthcare and New York based thing.net. Michael holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in painting from Southern Illinois University and a Master of Fine Arts degree in digital media from Stony Brook University in New York.

Yang Xiang has taught Web design and digital media courses at CLC since 2002. She holds two master's degrees from the University of Arizona, one in Media Arts and the other in Management Information Systems. As a graduate student, Yang participated in research projects funded by the National Science Foundation at the Artificial Intelligence Lab, exploring effective ways of visualizing criminal data by using new media. Her research results have been published internationally.
