The Horticulture Department and Biological and Health Sciences Divisions wishes to thank those who have helped to make the following horticulture scholarships possible.
Home and Garden Club of Libertyville-Mundelein
$250 awarded to a female student pursuing a career in Horticulture, Floral, or Landscape design. Minimum 2.5 G.P.A required.
Horticulture Career Exploration Scholarship
The Horticulture Career Exploration Scholarship will cover tuition and fees for one, three-credit horticulture class at the College of Lake County. To qualify for this scholarship, the scholarship applicant will have never previously enrolled in any for-credit, college-level horticulture course. Further, the student must meet the academic requirements or prerequisites of the course in question. Beginning in fall 2009, this scholarship will be awarded each semester, including the summer, while existing scholarship funds last.
Lincolnshire Garden Club
$500 to provide financial help for a student with an interest in horticulture. Must be enrolled half-time with a 2.75 GPA and reside in Lake County.
Stuart Mekemson Horticulture
$300 award for a sophomore Horticulture student. Minimum 3.0 GPA required.
Northern IL Conservation Club
$500 to a full-time freshman student with a 2.0 GPA. Award may be used towardstuition, fees and books. The student must be a Lake County resident. No specific degree or program of study is required; however, the student should have an interest in nature, such as horticulture or ecology.
Town and Country Garden Club of Libertyville
$500 towards the tuition and fees of a horticulture, environmental, landscape design or floral design student. Funds may be used for tuition and fees. The applicant should be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours with a 3.0 GPA and be a Lake County resident.
