Teaching full time at CLC since: 2004; previously taught at Ball State University. Professor Flack also has taught at: Anderson University in Anderson, Tex.; Curie Metro High School for the Performing Arts in Chicago; and Stell Middle School in Brownsville, Tex.

Other professional experience: Michael Flack is currently Music Director and Conductor for the CLC Wind Ensemble and CLC Jazz Ensemble. He has been a member of the faculty since 2004. Prior to joining the CLC faculty, Flack was Undergraduate Coordinator of Music at Ball State University, Director of the Electronic Music program at Curie Metropolitan High School for the Performing Arts in Chicago, IL and Assistant Director of Bands in the Brownsville, TX Independent School District.

As a pianist and bandleader, Flack lead the Chicago Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra, specializing in the performance of the original arrangements of the Stan Kenton Orchestra and was a featured soloist with the orchestra during their October, 2000 performance at the XIV International Music Festival in Macau, China.  He has recorded three compact discs, Eternity (2006) with the David Jennings Acoustic Ensemble, Swinging In The Windy City (2002), featuring Buddy DeFranco with the John Burnett Swing Orchestra, and Labor Of Love (1999), with the Chicago Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra.

In June of 2004 he and the CLC wind and jazz ensembles performed for and were guests of the city of Besana Brianza in Italy, at the 12th edition of the Santa Cecilia International Band Festival near Milan.
