We are more than just books! The John C. Murphy Memorial Library aims to provide quality services and collections, advance information literacy and critical thinking and promote lifelong learning to support the academic success of students, faculty and the college community.
Located on the second floor of the Learning Resource Center, the library contains:
- More than 110,000 books and 900 periodical titles.
- A computer lab in the reference area, providing access to databases. Many of these databases are also accessible from off campus.
- An audiovisual department with access to more than 3,000 films and videotapes, 7,000 audio products and hundreds of other media.
Our other services include:
- The Tutoring Center, providing tutoring to support and complement classroom instruction.
- The Testing Center, offering a variety of testing services.
- A computer lab, open to both CLC students and community members. If you have a special need, there is a row of the lab containing assistive devices and computers.
- Staff librarians who help students with research projects and finding academic sources. We also hold regular workshops on how to conduct research using the library’s sources. You can email or chat live with a librarian from our Library website home page.
- Libraries at the Southlake Campus in Vernon Hills and the Lakeshore Campus in Waukegan.
