Engis Corporation, a client of the Illinois Small Business Development and International Trade Center at CLC, was awarded the “2018 Exporter of the Year” by the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity May 24. In conjunction with World Trade Month in May, Engis received a Governor’s Proclamation to honor the firm’s export excellence and achievements.
Kevin Kim, CLC International Trade Specialist, supported Engis by helping the company expand to new export markets, providing export finance and market research resources and recommending that the company apply for the Governor’s Exporter of the Year award.
Engis Corporation, founded in 1938, has grown from a quality assurance instrumentation manufacturer to a producer of high quality super abrasive finishing systems including diamond lapping, honing, grinding, and polishing. The firm’s global headquarters is in Wheeling. Active in international trade, the firm conducts trade shows around the world and has a robust international presence in Canada, Japan, United Kingdom, China, Korea, Hong Kong and Singapore.
