Oct. 21: ‘Broadway: Close To You’ pairs show tunes, Carpenters music at JLC

A double bill of Broadway musical fare and classic pop music of the ‘70s group the Carpenters is on tap in ‘Broadway: Close To You’ on Sunday, Oct. 21 at 4 p.m. in the Mainstage Theatre of the James Lumber Center of the Performing Arts. The venue is located on the college’s Grayslake Campus.

In this eclectic double bill, Photo of O Sole TrioO Sole Trio—an exhilarating classical crossover ensemble— performs “Bravissimo Broadway,” featuring their own unique arrangements of show tunes from beloved musicals. In the second half of the evening, Lisa Rock and her six-piece band perform “Close to You: The Music of the Carpenters,” recreating the catchy pop music with spot-on renditions of their classic songs.

Tickets: $35/$30 for adults; $34/$29 for seniors, CLC staff and alumni; $15 for CLC students and teens; $10 for children. Prices do not include an additional $2 per ticket facility fee.
