Monmouth College joins college’s Guaranteed Transfer Admission program

by Public Relations and Marketing | Published Nov 05, 2018

The College of Lake County and Monmouth College, a nationally ranked, private, liberal arts college located in Monmouth, Ill., recently signed a Guaranteed Transfer Admission agreement. CLC students who meet the requirements outlined in the partnership agreement and transfer to Monmouth to complete a bachelor’s degree will be guaranteed admission.

Karen Hlavin, vice president for student development, said that Monmouth is a great addition to CLC’s Guaranteed Transfer Admission program due to its academic reputation, breadth of degree programs and location, within a four-hour drive of LakeLogo of Monmouth College County. “Through this partnership, we’re offering our students yet another high-quality option in Illinois,” Hlavin said. “We can now provide qualified students an opportunity to plan their transfer to Monmouth several semesters in advance and take advantage of advising from both institutions simultaneously.”

Wendy Downing, associate director of admission at Monmouth College, said, “We’re excited to have established this agreement, as it helps provide a clearer academic transition for CLC transfer students continuing their studies at Monmouth. The agreement covers 34 majors at our college, ranging from accounting to wellness administration, as well as scholarships ranging from $13,000 to $20,000. Fully 99 percent of our Monmouth graduates are employed or in graduate school six months after graduation.”
