March 2: China’s Golden Dragon Acrobats return to James Lumber Center

The Golden Dragon Acrobats, a troupe of China’s most gifted tumblers, contortionists, jugglers, cyclists and gymnasts, will bring their country’s 2,500-year-old tradition of acrobatics back to the College of Lake County after an eight-year absence. The performance takes place at 7 p.m. Saturday, March 2 at the James Lumber Center for the Performing Arts.

Accompanied by ancient and contemporary music, the multi-talented troupe (photo) combines award-winning acrobatics, precision tumbling, traditional dance andPhoto of Golden Dragon Acrobats breathtaking routines including daring maneuvers atop a precarious tower of chairs.

Since 1985, the Golden Dragon Acrobats have toured North America continuously, performing in all 50 U.S. states and at prestigious venues including the Washington, D.C.-based Ford’s Theatre and the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. Other locations range from the Boston Symphony Hall to Broadway to the University of California-Berkeley. For details, visit

Regular tickets are $40/$35 and $39/$34 for seniors, CLC staff and alumni. CLC students and teens are $15 and children are $12 (prices do not include a $2 JLC facility fee).
