Dec. 14: Ruth Page Civic Ballet’s 'The Nutcracker' returns to the JLC

by Public Relations and Marketing | Published Nov 21, 2019

A little girl heroine, her mysterious godfather, a battle between toy soldiers and mice, a forest glade of dancing snowflakes and an enchanted nutcracker are brought to life in one magical night in Ruth Page Civic Ballet’s The Nutcracker. The performance comes to the Mainstage Theatre of the James Lumber Center for the Performing Arts, on the College of Lake County’s Grayslake Campus, on Saturday, Dec. 14 at 1 and 5 p.m.

The quintessential production of the holiday and family classic, originally presented at Chicago’s Arie Crown Theatre from 1965 until 1997, recreates Ruth Page’s beautiful and beloved original full-length staging with an elite company and international guest artists.
