Annual Ceramics Sale grosses $12K; proceeds support scholarships and more

Hundreds of students, faculty, staff and community members in search of something special bought more than $12,000 of unique ceramic creations made by College of Lake County art students. The 14th annual Ceramics Sale, held Dec. 4 and 5 at the Grayslake Campus,Photo of ceramic bowls made by CLC students featured mugs, vases, bowls, sculptures and other original works.

Twenty-five percent of the profits support scholarships, purchase new equipment and fund visiting artists and field trips. The majority of the proceeds go back to the students who use the money to pay their tuition and supply costs. The event has raised nearly $200,000 since starting in 2005.
