CLC’s January events include career information sessions, auditions

From career information sessions to a small-business workshop, the College of Lake County presents more than a half dozen events open to the community. While some events are free of charge and others have an admission fee, the variety of offerings appeals to a wide range of interests. All events are at the Grayslake Campus. Saturday, Jan. 11: Maker Week Build and Design Day, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Baxter Innovation Lab, Room T121. Individuals, clubs or teams are welcome to use the lab for meeting, brainstorming and fabricating to prepare for the Lake County Maker Week April 18-25. Additional Build and Design Days are on Feb. 8, March 14 and April 4. To register for these free workshops, students and their parents must complete a registration form and return it to CPEInfo@clcillinois.edu.

Tuesday, Jan. 14: Nursing career information session, 2-3 p.m., Room D228.

Tuesday, Jan. 21: Spring Semester begins. There is still time to register for hundreds of career, transfer and non-credit, personal enrichment courses.

Wednesday, Jan. 22: Starting Your Business in Illinois workshop, 2-4 p.m., Room E119. Cost is $20. Monday, Jan. 27: Health Information Technology career information session, 4-5 p.m., location TBD. For details, call the Biological and Health Sciences division at (847) 543-2042.

Tuesday, Jan. 28: January meeting for the CLC Board of Trustees, 6-10 p.m., Board Room C213.

Thursday, Jan. 30: Auditions for 22nd Annual Fear No Art Festival, 5-10 p.m. Room P103, James Lumber Center for the Performing Arts. The festival, scheduled for April 24 and 25, features emerging choreographers, dancers, musicians, singers, actors and poets.
